Northeastern Junior College is a comprehensive learning community that produces skilled and knowledgeable citizens who will transfer successfully to four-year schools, enter the workforce productively, and contribute positively to their own and society's economic and social well-being.

We are the largest two-year residential college in Colorado. Our residence halls provide our students the opportunity to live in a community with 465 residents, attend weekly programs, and live in an academic environment. The residence life staff includes dedicated members who strive to create a safe and welcoming community which challenges and suppors all students by enhancing their educationl experiences.

Northeastern Junior College offers programs leading to the Associate of Arts (AA) Degree, Associate of Science (AS) Degree, Associate of General Studies (AGS) Degree and Associate of Applied Science (AAS) Degree along with certificates for Career and Technical Education Programs. All degrees and certificates require a minimum 2.00 cumulative grade point average (GPA) to be awarded.

More than 53 programs of study are offered in both transfer and career/technical programs. Many students attend Northeastern and then transfer on to universities. We are one of the largest feeder schools to Colorado State University (Fort Collins), University of Northern Colorado (Greeley), Metro State College (Denver) plus many out-of-state colleges.

Northeastern draws students from nearly every one of Colorado's 63 counties each year, more than 20 states per year and an average of 10 foreign countries per year. We are the only two-year college in Colorado to offer students an Honors Program, complete with special housing for honors students.

We Offer Over 30 Clubs and Organizations, so you can become involved and enjoy your college experience as well as become a well balanced student.

Northeastern Junior College is located in Sterling, Colorado, a city of nearly 15,000 residents located just 125 miles northeast of Denver, Colorado.

As the largest city in this part of the state, Sterling serves as the primary location for retail trade, transportation, government, medical care, recreation and education.

Sterling is home to the North Sterling Reservoir State Park, a large facility that draws visitors from all over the region on a regular basis. To the west of Sterling lie the Pawnee National Grasslands--miles and miles of peaceful prairie dotted with beautiful wild flowers and animals plus some occasional bluffs that rise into the air like sleeping giants. More than 80,000 visitors a year come to this area to tour the grasslands.

A number of other amenities and facilities provide great resources to this area and draw large crowds to town. Northeastern Junior College is a primary gathering place, especially at the Bank of Colorado Event Center located on campus.
