Job Description


As a part of our growth, LKQ is looking for a dedicated Wheel Core Sorter. This position performs duties including: identify and separate core wheels from incoming scrap loads, perform spinning process as needed to determine what core wheels meet the specifications, weigh materials and containers after sort. The Wheel Core Sorter will operate a fork lift or skid steer to unload incoming loads of scrap. This position requires that paperwork be maintained correctly.



Essential Job Duties:



  • Drive fork lift or skid steer to unload incoming loads of scrap.




  • Maintain paperwork correctly by vendor.




  • Weigh materials and containers after sort and complete paperwork.




  • Deliver product (wheel cores) to core sorters for processing.




  • Perform spinning process as needed to determine what core wheels meet specifications.




  • Identify and separate ore wheels from incoming scrap loads.




  • Identify & segregate non-conforming scrap from incoming loads.




  • Assumes other duties as assigned.




Job Requirements


Basic Qualifications:



Education & Experience:


  • High school graduate or G.E.D. equivalent preferred.





Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:


  • Must demonstrate good interpersonal skills.




  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills and be able to interact with all levels of management and team members.




  • Must be able to work in cooperation with others.




  • Must be attentive to detail and ensure accuracy in work assignments.





Essential Physical Demands/Work Environment:


  • This position requires individuals to be able to work in hot and cold weather and to lift, push and pull up to 60lbs.





Machines, Equipment, and Software:


  • Ability to operate all equipment in the Production plants, computer, ADS/Prelude knowledge for PRD department processes and reports.




  • More specifically, ability to pass certification of the fork lift program.
