The Laboratory Technician will assist with routine laboratory tests and sample preparation. This position offers excellent benefits, on the job training, casual dress and daytime hours in a fast-paced work environment. This full-time position is located in Brookings, SD.
• Seed Laboratory Supervisor
Prepare, label, plant, and process samples.
Assist with keeping laboratory area and equipment clean and organized.
Prepare seed treatment chemical solutions according to standard formulas.
Assist in other areas of the company as needed.
Perform general laboratory duties.
Promote responsibility, good work habits, a positive work environment and improve customer service.
Troubleshoot and monitor for irregularities in seed or seedling test results, media, temperatures, equipment and facilities.
Insure quality and confidentiality of client and company information and take an active role in updating Quality System.
At all times, comply with SGS Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
• Ability to work independently, often under time-sensitive situations, within a team environment.
• Must be well organized.
• Must be dependable and able to attend work regularly.
• Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods.
• Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships within a team environment.
• Must be able to regularly lift 15-30 pounds.
• Must have excellent communication skills.
• Must be able to display a strong sense of urgency and good judgment.
