Job Summary:

The primary focal point for the Service Engineer II is handling requests for regulatory investigation.  As an advocate for the customer relationship, the Service Engineer II translates customer complaints into quantitative statements of technical issues. This position will act as a liaison between manufacturing, product development and regulatory. This postion is also responsible for additional duties and projects, as assigned by manager, that require a high level understanding of products and/or processes.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Act as liaison between Service, Operations, and Design engineering, facilitating timely access and exchange of information related to newly recognized or resolved technical issues.
  • Maintaining compatibility matrix for SonoSite products through end of life.
  • Produce and maintain product service plans, and participate in service and material planning for mature products based on corporate End of Life policy. 
  • Responsible for developing and writing Service Manual content and Technical Training package for new products.
  • Special duties or project work such as compilation of service manual content and data gathering for quality reporting/tracking purposes.
  • Improve/establish and publish service procedures and tools to improve responsiveness, customer satisfaction, and forward looking quality outcomes.
  • Responsible and accountable for carrying out the requirements of the company's quality system.


Knowledge and Experience:

  • Engineering Degree with 5-7 years broad-based experience in Technical Support / Service, Operations, and Project Management.  Lesser technical degree considered with 10+ years relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with complex PCBA-based electro-mechanical systems and the failure mechanisms common to them.
  • Training in formal problem solving techniques.
  • Proficient with Reliability and quality measurement methods.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient with data management tools (database, SQL, Excel, statistical software), and standard office software.
  • Ability to objectively distill large amounts of data to create persuasive need for action. into action to create actionable results
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with use of commercial change management software in a regulated environment, preferable medical.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide technical training
  • Able to lift 25lbs with or without accommodations
