What’s Hot: “Neither rain, nor snow, nor sleet, nor hail shall keep the postmen from their appointed rounds.” Previously unrewarded efforts are beginning to pay off for postal workers. As of March 2017, Postal Service Mail Carriers ($50,610) and Mail Sorters, Processors, and Processing Machine Operators ($49,710) are the fourth and fifth spots on the Best Paid list of the Office and Administrative Support occupational group. Della Street of Perry Mason fame would also take heart that Executive Secretaries and Administrative Assistants are getting their due, topping the list with an annual average at $58,910 (and making a big jump from the fifth spot at $42,340 as recently as 2008).
What’s Not: Call or arrive anytime and the Hotel, Motel, and Resort Desk Clerks are there to help. Problem is, their mean annual wage ($23,530) often leaves their bank accounts with vacancy. Also underappreciated are the Stock Clerks and Order Fillers ($26,670 and Tellers ($28,060) follow on the Least Paid list.
Wage Estimates for the entire group can be found here.
