Competitive candidates must also meet the Time-in-Grade requirement as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F. For current Federal employees, if hours worked per week are not included on your resume, you must submit a non-award SF-50 as part of your application to be used to validate your work schedule and determine the amount of specialized experience that you will be granted. An award SF-50 will not be acceptable documentation for which to consider your amount of qualifying experience. For periods of time that reflect military service, the DD-214 or Statement of Service documentation is sufficient to verify the work schedule requirement, as the service dates will be reflected. For all other applicants that are not current federal employees, your resume must clearly state either "full-time" (or "40 hours per week") or "part-time" with the number of hours worked per week to ensure proper crediting of specialized experience is applied. To qualify for the GS-11: You must possess one year of specialized experience that is comparable in scope and complexity to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal civil service. Qualifying experience for the Land Surveyor position at the GS-11 grade level is defined as: Assisting or participating in surveying activities involving or pertaining to site topography, geodetic control, right-of-way, property boundary, and/or construction stake-out processes; assisting in the development of technical reference documents and/or the formulation of proposed legal descriptions and plans suitable for facilitating right-of-way acquisition(s); communicating ideas, facts, and other relevant information in a clear and logical manner to customers, teammates and/or other professionals. This definition of qualifying experience represents the type of work performed at the next lower grade level in the Federal civil service (GS-09). To qualify for the GS-12: You must possess one year of specialized experience that is comparable in scope and complexity to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal civil service. Qualifying experience for the Land Surveyor position at the GS-12 full performance level is defined as: Conducting and/or leading surveying efforts involving or pertaining to site topography, geodetic control, right-of-way, property boundary, and/or construction stakeout processes; developing technical reference documents and/or formulating proposed legal descriptions and plans suitable for facilitating right-of-way acquisition(s); fostering and/or maintaining cooperative working relationships with professional counterparts and management officials in meeting shared program objectives. This definition of qualifying experience represents the type of work performed at the next lower grade level in the Federal civil service (GS-11). In addition: A valid Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license issued through a State Board in any State or Territory of the United States or in the District of Columbia is required for placement at the GS-12 full performance level of this position. This is in accordance with Reclamation Manual 05-01, Professional Registration for Engineers, Land Surveyors, Landscape Architects, and Architects, section 3(G), Surveying Determinations or Actions; and 4, Signing for Technical Approval.
