I'm Jack Adler, and my work here at Careers.org centers on breaking down how people actually get into different occupations, from the typical job duties and work settings to the degrees, certificates, and licenses each path requires. I spend most of my time on career exploration and education and training programs, explaining how associate's, bachelor's, and master's degrees and professional certifications fit into real career trajectories. I also write about comparing programs and choosing a field of study, with an eye toward helping students, adults returning to school, and career changers ask better questions before they request information from a school. My perspective comes from working within Careers.org's US-focused career guide, which is built specifically to show what jobs involve and what training gets you there. I keep the site's limits in mind as I write: Careers.org is not a school or employer, listings are sponsored, and no outcome is guaranteed.
